Many people accuse me of making a literal creation a salvation issue—as well as a young earth. Well, they’re not . . . but they are an authority issue! Now, let me explain.
Salvation is based on faith in Christ alone—so Genesis is not a litmus test for salvation. But what you believe about Genesis is an authority issue—is man, or God, your ultimate authority? When Christians compromise God’s clear Word with godless ideas, they show that the Bible isn’t really their authority—man is!
So this is an authority issue—and it’s a gospel issue because the gospel is grounded in the history in Genesis! Undermining Genesis is an attack on the gospel!
