The Lord of Heaven and Earth

In Acts seventeen, Paul preached a sermon to a group of Greek pagans, many of whom believed a form of evolution. He tells them the one true God is Lord of heaven and earth, gives us life and breath and everything else, and has made every person from one man.

Now, this contradicted the pagan origins story the Greeks believed. But Paul didn’t mix the Bible’s history with their pagan ideas, like so many do today. He just taught what God’s Word says.

Paul believed the history in Genesis and understood the theology grounded in that history. Because we’re all from one man who sinned, we’re all sinners and all need the Savior, Jesus Christ.
