What happens when you lose your hat in a mine? Well, for one miner anyway, you get—well—a hard hat! You see, someone in a mine lost their hat and when it was found several years later, it had completely petrified!

Also, in the mid-1800s a farmer built a wooden fence. Over time, it rotted away. But the stumps stayed in the ground . . . where they were petrified!

It doesn’t take long ages to make fossils—just the right conditions.

Now, in today’s world, having the right conditions is rare. But during the global flood of Noah’s day, the conditions were perfect to form billions of fossils very quickly!

The key isn’t long ages—it’s the conditions caused by the Flood.
