Transcript

Yesterday we learned that organisms reproduce “according to their kinds,” just as we learn from Genesis. One kind won’t change into another kind.

So, what is a “kind”?

Well, in modern times, we classify organisms according to kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, and species. Kind is at about the level of “family” in this system. So, if organisms belong to the same family, they probably belong to the same created kind.

Now, there’s a huge amount of variety within each kind. Consider dogs—today we’ve got domestic dog breeds, wolves, dingoes, and foxes . . . they’re all dogs. This variety is possible because God gave amazing genetic diversity.
