This is Ken Ham, heading up the apologetics ministry that built a full-size Noah’s Ark.

Transcript

Genesis one describes God creating everything in six days. But were these regular, twenty-four-hour days?

Absolutely!

You know, while the word “day” in the Bible can have many different meanings, we know what it means because of the context. And the context of Genesis one is clear—these were ordinary days. Words there—like “evening” and “morning”—make this obvious.

Exodus 20 verse 11 says God created in “six days” and rested one day—that’s why we have a seven-day week. If these “days” were long ages, then our week makes no sense.

Jesus said he created male and female “at the beginning of creation”—not millions of years after.
