Genesis chapters six through eight record the account of the global flood. But, how can we know this event really happened?
Well, over the next two weeks we’re going to see geological and other evidence for the global flood. But let’s start with the ultimate reason why we know this flood really happened—the Scriptures!
God’s Word is our ultimate authority. It was written by the eyewitness to history – God. And he never lies—so we can always trust his Word! Now, it’s clear in Genesis that there was a global flood. And Jesus and other New Testament writers affirmed it as well.
Yes, evidence is important. But it’s not our ultimate authority. God and his Word always are.
