Many Christians believe the days in Genesis could be long periods of time. But that idea doesn’t come from the Bible! It comes from outside influences, such as secular scientists’ interpretations of rock layers.
When you read Genesis, it’s clear the days were twenty-four hours. Now, everywhere in the Old Testament where “day” is used with a number .. or when the phrase “evening and morning” occurs … it always means a regular day.
Also, Exodus chapter twenty says that God created everything in six days. That’s why we work for six days and rest for one.
We should never re-interpret God’s clear words because of man’s ideas. God’s Word must be our authority in all areas.
