And Everything Was “Very Good”

At the end of creation week, God declared that everything he’d made was, “very good.”

Now, the Bible tells us every work of God is perfect. God’s original creation was perfect. But that’s not the world we see today!

Adam’s sin broke creation. It now groans because of sin. It’s a broken, cursed creation—but with a remnant of beauty.

Now, many Christians try to fit millions of years into Genesis. But this puts millions of years of death, suffering, and disease before sin. This idea denies that God’s creation was ever “very good”—and says God is responsible for death and suffering.

It’s sin that’s the cause of death.
