What was the Christmas star? Well, yesterday, we learned it might’ve been a supernatural event. Scripture doesn’t tell us, so we can’t know for sure. But we do know what the purpose of the star was. It alerted the magi, more popularly known as “the wise men,” to the birth of Jesus.

Now, it’s a common misconception that the magi arrived at the manger scene, right alongside the shepherds. But the Bible says the star stopped over the house where Mary and Jesus were. And it gives clues that Jesus may’ve been as old as two when this happened.

Whatever the star was, it accomplished its special purpose. It led the magi to worship the young Jesus, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
