Today, many people seem to worship the environment. They believe “mother nature” brought us here, so we need to take care of her … and her creatures. They elevate nature above everything—including people.

But that isn’t the right response! “Mother nature” didn’t create us. God did. And when God created the first people, Adam and Eve, he commanded them to have dominion over creation.

You see, Christians through the ages have agreed this means we’re to care for creation, using it for our good … and God’s glory. It’s called “stewardship.” And humans are made in God’s image with a unique value the rest of creation doesn’t have.

Yes, we care for creation, but we don’t worship it!
