A Bird with an Unlaid Egg

All this week we’ve been looking at fossil finds that point to a catastrophic burial, not the slow and gradual processes we observe today. We’ve seen a bird with a lizard in its belly, a beautiful lily, and a whole school of fish that look like they’re still swimming.

Well, here’s another one to add to the list—a bird found with an unlaid egg inside it.

This was a very exciting discovery for scientists. The bird was so remarkably preserved that the delicate, unlaid egg was still inside its mother!

Now, slow and gradual processes like we see today won’t form fossils—and certainly not fossils like that one! It points to a catastrophe. And that was the global flood of Noah’s day!
