Transcript

These last two weeks, we’ve been looking at the catastrophe of Mount St. Helens. Now, this eruption in Washington showed how fast geologic processes can happen!

You see, many geologists believe processes happen slowly and gradually. This kind of thinking started when geologists began rejecting God’s Word as history.

They believed that they could look at the world around us and figure out what happened in the past. And they argued for the slow and gradual processes of the present.

But the more we learn about catastrophes, the more we realize that slow and gradual processes do not represent how our world was shaped. It was shaped by a catastrophe—Noah’s global flood.
