All this week we’ve seen that the New Testament affirms that Genesis is literal history. We saw that Jesus -- and the Apostles Paul and Peter -- all treated the events of Genesis as historical accounts.
So why do so many Christians have such a hard time accepting this? Well, often it’s because they don’t want to look foolish to the world. But, we’re called to conform our thinking to God’s Word—not worry about the world. Remember, God uses seemingly foolish things to show his wisdom.
When we try to tell God what he did, instead of allowing him to tell us what he did, we’re setting ourselves up as authorities over God’s Word. Instead, let’s have God be our authority—in every area.
