The world is very different now from the one God created. When Adam sinned, the world was cursed. Everything changed. And then the global flood of Noah’s day changed it again.
The flood was a catastrophic event that shaped the continents. As the fountains of the great deep ripped open, they cracked the crust into plates. These plates were rapidly yanked away from each other. As they eventually crashed together, they folded and lifted—forming mountains.
The massive mountains we have today are huge reminders of the flood. Next time you see soaring peaks, remember God’s mercy in saving Noah and his family in the ark—and saving us through our ark of salvation, Jesus.
