Many Christians accept the idea of millions of years without realizing the theological implications. You see, if the record of rock layers is supposedly very old, you have a major problem. These rocks are filled with fossils, but if those fossils are millions of years old, then death came before sin.

But the Bible tells us that God’s original creation was “very good” … and that death is a result of Adam and Eve’s rebellion. But if death came before sin over millions of years, then death isn’t the penalty for sin. So why did Jesus even have to come and die?
