Why are we at Answers in Genesis so passionate about the age of the earth? Well, it’s really not about the age of the earth at all! You see, we care about how Christians view Genesis. Here are two important reasons.
First, because the gospel begins in Genesis. It’s only because there was a literal Adam, who rebelled against God, that we need a savior, Jesus. Without the history in Genesis, the gospel has no foundation!
Second, it’s about biblical authority. Who will we trust? Will we trust God’s infallible Word or will we trust the ever-changing opinions of man?
I want believers to put their trust in Christ and his Word—and that’s why the age of the earth’s important.
