For many, today is a day of joy and celebration. But for others, the season is filled with loss, grief, and loneliness. Can Christmas be a season of joy for those who are grieving or lonely?
Yes, it can! You see, ultimately, Christmas isn’t a celebration of family or togetherness. It’s a time set aside to celebrate God’s gift to us—himself. Jesus was called “Emmanuel,” God with us. Our Creator isn’t some distant deity. Before the foundations of the world, God had a plan to save sinners like you and me. Christmas is a celebration of Jesus stepping into history on his path to the cross and our redemption.
