I’m often asked, “Who were the cavemen?”

The answer? “Well, people who lived in caves!”

Throughout history, humans have often taken shelter in whatever’s most convenient, especially in a harsh climate. In fact, there are people today who still live in caves because they’re great shelter!

So why did humans in the past make their homes in caves? Well, the global Flood of Noah’s day was followed by an Ice Age. This time would’ve made farming and herding difficult in some areas.

People groups in the north probably had to follow migratory herds. So they took temporary shelter where it was most convenient—in dry, sheltered caves.

Cavemen aren’t a mystery—they were just humans who lived in caves.
