Sometimes our outer ear muscles are included. That’s because we can’t swivel them like some animals can. It’s assumed they’re leftover from our supposed evolutionary past. But evidence suggests they’re important for causing us to reflexively turn our eyes in the direction of a sudden sound.

Our bodies, though marred by the Curse, aren’t full of leftovers, because we didn’t evolve!
