Creation—It’s Young!

This week we’re looking at five “creation basics” that come from the Bible. The first one is the age of the earth. Now, the Bible doesn’t give us an exact age for the earth—which is good, or it’d be outdated within a year!

But it does give us the information we need to calculate an age for the earth. You see, Genesis tells us God created in six literal days. Then it goes on to list detailed chronologies from Adam to Abraham. When you add up those dates, you get 2,000 years, plus six days.

We know there’s been 2,000 years from Abraham to Christ, and then 2,000 years from Christ to us. That’s just 6,000 years, the age of creation.
