Picture this: a deer grazes in the sunshine while birds sing. A rabbit munches on some grass. Beautiful, right? But what you don’t see are the ticks feeding on the birds. And the fox is crouched, ready to pounce on the rabbit. And the parasite eggs are hiding in the grass, waiting to invade the doe.
It’s beautiful, but it’s also ugly. And Genesis explains why.
God’s original creation was very good—no bloodthirsty ticks, no carnivores, and no parasitic worms. But Adam’s sin changed everything. It brought death, and creation was cursed. And now we see both beauty and ugliness.
But someday God promises to restore the creation
