Scripture is very clear that worship belongs to God alone. The early church worshipped Jesus, and during his time on earth, Jesus accepted this worship.

Thomas, one of Jesus’ disciples, fell down and exclaimed, “My Lord and my God.” He was worshipping Jesus, and Jesus made no attempt to redirect his worship to God the Father. The Apostles Peter and Paul, and an angel, all corrected others when they tried to worship them. They said that worship belongs to God alone.

The book of Revelation describes a scene in heaven where angels are worshipping the Lamb, and the Lamb is Jesus Christ.
