Trying to define a species is a difficult task for biologists today. Do you define them by their physical characteristics and reproduction, or something else?

The Bible doesn’t use the modern term “species.” Instead it describes God creating “kinds” that reproduce within their kind. This gives us a hint at what a kind is—a group of animals that can reproduce with one another.

Creationist biologists have determined that “kind” is about the same level as “family” in our modern classification system. God put a huge amount of variety into the DNA of each kind so they can diversify and fill the earth. And what we observe is kinds reproduce their own kind.
