Many people claim that Scripture is full of hidden meanings. But the meaning of the Bible isn’t hidden!

This week, we have been looking at how to read the Bible. Now, one important principle is the “plain meaning of Scripture.”

One of Jesus’ favorite replies to questions was, “Haven’t you read?” You see, Jesus expected people to read and understand what the Bible has to say. This means that Scripture isn’t full of hidden meanings only for educated or enlightened people to discover.

Now, there are parts of the Bible that are more difficult to understand than other sections. But let’s not read between the lines and try to find meanings that just aren’t there. Yes, the Bible is God’s truth—declared plainly to all generations.
