Many skeptics claim that millions of species could never fit on the Ark. Well, they are right—but you see, Noah didn’t have to cram millions of species onto the Ark.

God told Noah to take two of every kind of land-dwelling, air-breathing animal. In our modern system of classification, research has determined that “kind” is roughly equivalent to the “family” level of classification. So Noah didn’t need two tigers, two lions, and two leopards. He only needed two of the cat kind. Noah also didn’t need to take sea creatures because many could survive the Flood.

So how many animals did Noah need? As we show at our Ark Encounter, probably less than 5,000! There was plenty of room.
