Many people think that science is neutral—that scientists just follow the evidence where it leads them. But the process of science isn’t neutral.

You see, what you believe about the past determines how you interpret the evidence. For example, what you believe about how old the earth is . . . and how life got here . . . will influence how you view the evidence. It will affect your conclusions.

As biblical creationists, we start with God’s Word and interpret the evidence through that lens. But evolutionists also have a starting point—millions of years and pond-scum-to-people evolution. Neither group approaches the evidence from a neutral point. Both have starting assumptions that influence their interpretations.
