Neanderthals have long been considered to be not-quite-as-human as we are. But the more we study the places they lived, the more obvious it becomes that they were humans just like us.

Did you know Neanderthals buried their dead, wore jewelry and make-up, and even organized their homes? And they had hot water! And a new study suggests they used fire starters. These discoveries shouldn’t surprise those who start with God’s Word. Neanderthals were descendants of Adam and Eve, made in God’s image, just like us, and lived just a few thousand years ago. They may have looked a little different from us, but this just highlights the incredible variety that God created in human DNA.
