Creationists and evolutionists both agree that natural selection is a real process. We also agree that organisms change over time—we can observe that. But these genetic changes aren’t the same as evolution.

You see, natural selection only works on what is already there.

In other words, it can’t add new genetic information. But you need lots of brand-new information to turn a fish into a frog . . . or an amoeba into an astronaut!

While we can agree natural selection happens and organisms do change, we disagree on how much they can change. Creationists believe organisms can only reproduce according to their “kind”—and that is exactly what we observe. Dogs produce dogs, finches produce finches.
