Many people are surprised that we designed our full-size Ark, opening tomorrow, like a ship. But why?

Well, Scripture doesn’t tell us what the Ark looked like. We only get a few details like the size—and that it had one door. Now, Noah had lived several centuries by the time he built the Ark, so he may have had experience in shipbuilding. A ship would be much more comfortable and safe on the floodwaters than a box-shape structure would be. Therefore, we decided to go with a ship design for our Ark.

Of course, we can’t be dogmatic about what the Ark looked like since the Bible doesn’t tell us. What we do know for sure was that the Ark saved Noah, his family, and the land animals on board from the global Flood.
