Diamonds are one of the oldest substances on earth. But they aren’t billions of years old. Yesterday, we learned diamonds were formed in Creation rocks, so they are only around 6,000 years old.
Now Carbon-14, often used to date things, can only last for tens of thousands of years. After that amount of time, it will have completely decayed away. But researchers have found Carbon-14 in diamonds. If they are really are billions of years old, there shouldn’t be any Carbon-14 left—but there is! Plenty of it. And diamonds—the hardest natural material on earth—are too hard to have been contaminated.
Diamonds aren’t just beautiful—they point to God’s Word.
