In a recent address to the UN, President Trump spoke about climate change, calling it a scam and urging nations not to just mindlessly go along with many of the climate initiatives being pushed on them by activists. Was he right?
Well, the climate is changing. We can observe that. But we know from historical records that the climate has always changed. There’s been periods of warming and cooling in the past, and the minor shifts and changes we’re observing today aren’t that big of a deal—earth has seen much more dramatic changes, and life has survived (and thrived, actually).
The fact that the climate has changed in the past calls into question the narrative that any change happening today must be our fault.
The fact that the climate has changed in the past calls into question the narrative that any change happening today must be our fault. After all, when the “little ice age” hit Europe several hundred years ago, people weren’t driving cars or working in factories!
We must be good stewards of God’s creation, as he has entrusted earth to us to “tend and keep” (Genesis 2:15 NKJV) like he commanded Adam in the garden. But this means we use wisdom. We don’t just jump on the hysteria bandwagon because everyone else is! Instead, we thoughtfully examine the evidence (not just the models, as those have been consistently wrong) and the impact that climate policy will have on real people around the world.
Our Answers News team recently discussed this with wildlife ecologist Jessica DeFord. I encourage you to watch and share the episode below.
Yes, the climate is changing, but it’s nothing to be alarmed about, and it’s not your fault! Instead of acting out of fear, we should focus on real environmental problems and how we can come up with innovative solutions to better steward what God has given us.
And remember, God gave man dominion over the creation to use it (certainly not to abuse it) for man’s good and God’s glory.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken

“Why should God have anything against there being four of them rather than two?” is the question a clergywoman in Germany asked recently.
