69-Year-Old Man Sues to Lower His Age to 49

He claims he will, with his looks, be in “a luxurious position” if he can change his age. Here’s the logic he uses:

With this free(dom) of choice, choice of name, freeness of gender, I want to have my own age. I want to control myself.

And actually, his logic is consistent with the prevailing secular worldview of our day—if people can change their gender, why can’t he change his age? What’s the difference? Either way, a biological reality is being ignored because of how someone feels. We’ve noted before that, based on the logic transgender activists use, why can’t a 14-year-old identify as a 21-year-old and have a drink in a bar? Why can’t a 22-year-old identify as a 66-year-old and collect social security? The logic is the same! And, according to a recent UK poll, 19% of survey respondents believe people above the age of 18 should be allowed to self-define their age (and 30% don’t know!). Of course, some people claim that being transgender is genetic! But ultimately, it’s really a moral issue.

Once a culture has abandoned the authority of the Word of God, anything goes and everything disintegrates into chaos. Starting with God’s Word, we know we were created male and female (Genesis 1:27), and we don’t have the authority to redefine that. We also know we are not to lie (Proverbs 12:22), so how old we are is our age, regardless of how young or old we feel. Instead of buying into the subjective, ever-changing thinking of our day, we need to start our thinking with God’s Word.
