Looking Back on 2025: A Sad Year of Increasing Blasphemy

While our culture delves deeper and deeper into its own depravity, rejecting God more and more, we are seeing blasphemous and heinous sins more and more—especially in social media. This is the reason we do what we do at Answers in Genesis. We are about engaging our culture and shining light where it is most needed. And while I can’t say it’s fun or easy, sometimes we need to be aware of the things going on. But sadly, some of these blasphemies are occurring in churches!

Well, I have to say I’m glad Bryan Osborne did this video (not me!), as it’s frustrating to watch at points. It’s important to see some general principles he uses to respond to these things. It really comes down to truth (God’s Word) and lies (man twisting God’s words, just like Satan did in Genesis 3).

Here are some of the things Bryan covered:

  • Texting with “Jesus”
  • Twisting the historical, biblical account of Jesus to push untruths and ideologies
  • Saying things such as “blessed are our sexualities and . . . genders,” and saying they reveal aspects of God
  • Misleading children—in church!
  • Using the phrase “all created good” to justify sinful behavior
  • Satanic abortion rituals

Do you see some of the problems there? Bryan did a great job discussing these points, but here are some of my thoughts on these as well (in order):

  • Texting “Jesus” is really just going to AI instead of going to him in his Word or in prayer.
  • There is a trustworthy source of the events of Jesus’ life—God’s Word!
  • God has revealed his purpose of sexuality (lifelong marriage between one man and one woman) to reflect the relationship of Christ to the church (Ephesians 5). God said he created male and female, and he refers to himself as masculine (Genesis 1:27). How dare we mess with that!
  • Matthew 18:6 has something to say about misleading children!
  • Well, Adam and Eve were very good (Genesis 1:31)—but it didn’t last long (Genesis 3). And our current state is summed up in Romans 3:12: “All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.”
  • Where do I even start? The satanic abortion-ritual segment goes on about bodily autonomy. 1 Corinthians 6:19 makes it clear that our bodies are not our own (God created us and therefore owns us), and Exodus 20:13 says not to murder. Numerous verses point to the truth that unborn babies are made in the image of God and are fully human. We covered this ritual back in 2022, and AiG’s Patricia Engler wrote a lengthy refutation of the idea that a baby is anything but a human with rights that need to be protected.
Satan’s old trick is still being used: mixing truth with lies and telling man that he can become his own god.

Satan’s old trick is still being used: mixing truth with lies and telling man that he can become his own god (Genesis 3:5), and we’re seeing more and more of this today to lead people astray. But there is a book for that! A book which gives us the truth of a perfect creation with mankind being created male and female in God’s image, humanity rebelling against his Creator, a loving and merciful (but just) God who lived among us and made a way to reconcile people to himself, and instructions on how to please him and live forever with him in a restored paradise.

My heart breaks for those—especially children—led astray by the many bankrupt, hopeless ideologies and false gospels out there. Won’t you join with us in praying for God’s truth to permeate the culture and for many to be saved as a result?

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
