Over the years, I’ve watched many buildings go up at the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum. It always seems so slow at first as workers put in drains, add utilities (power, water, sewer), dig the footings and pour them, and so on. But once the foundation is completed, the buildings go up quite quickly—and that means it’s time for me to give you another construction update.
These photographs give you an update on the new Welcome Center and Jerusalem building under construction at the Ark Encounter. The Welcome Center and new shuttle bus drop-off, when it opens, will be such a great addition and allow for quicker loading of buses and more room for people to move around.
As well as the changes to the outside of the building, there’s work being done that will eventually be displayed inside the building. Our amazing fabrication team at the design studio is hard at work creating these stunning elements. Right now, they’re crafting gorgeous wooden beams that will be placed at the top of the pillars—visible near the ceiling as you enter the Welcome Center.
Using CNC technology, they’re creating railings for the ticketing booths and machining parts for counters and shelving. We can't wait to see everything come together.
The Jerusalem model building (not slated to open until 2027) will house the most up-to-date model of first-century Jerusalem in the world. We’re so excited for this coming exhibit—it will be a whole attraction in itself and will powerfully demonstrate the truth of God’s Word and the gospel. Please continue praying for our teams as they work hard on the building construction as well as the extremely detailed exhibit.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
