You shouldn’t trust AI to create a reading list for you! A staff member recently sent me a news article about a “Summer reading list for 2025” that was published in several major newspapers, including the Chicago Sun-Times. The problem with the list was that 10 out of 15 of the books were fake—just generated by the AI program that “partially wrote” the article!
Apparently the authors were real authors, but the book titles and provided synopses were just invented out of thin air. So I thought I’d take the opportunity to give you my summer reading list suggestions—and I promise that AI did not write this article and that all of these books actually do exist! (And they are all available through AiG.)
-
They Had Names by Dr. Nathaniel Jeanson. This brand-new book traces the history of the Native American indigenous peoples based on unique cutting-edge research—and it’s absolutely fascinating. It’s thrilling that creationists are doing research that no one else can do because we start with the right foundation, God’s Word and the young earth timeline.
- Rocket Science Confirms the Bible by Rob Webb. A former NASA rocket scientist, Rob powerfully shows how science and Scripture align to proclaim the glory of God because, yes, even rocket science confirms biblical truth!
- The Lie. My classic book exposing the lie of evolution and millions of years was recently revised, expanded, and updated, and now it’s more relevant than ever. If you’ve never read this book, I encourage you to do so—it’s really the core AiG message in a nutshell.
- Woke Injustice by Bryan Osborne. Bryan explores critical race theory (CRT) and other “woke” ideologies that are infiltrating schools and the church and distorting the gospel. Every high school student needs to read this book!
- Modern Marxism by Patricia Engler. This book is a guide for Christians in a woke new world and a great companion to Bryan’s Woke Injustice. Patricia exposes the false gospel of Marxism and—with insights from Scripture, history, and the persecuted church—she helps everyday Christians understand and respond to what’s happening in our culture
-
Ken Ham Daily. Yes, New Year’s is long past, but it’s not too late to add a daily devotional (well, this is much more than the usual type of devotional) to your routine. Enjoy 365 musings, inspirations, and answers that draw from my 50 years of ministry. It’s a great opportunity for parents to lead their family spiritually with a mini teaching sermon each day. There is no other daily reading book like this using apologetics, worldview, and equipping teaching to help you understand and deal with today’s cultural and church issues.
- Little Children of the World by Amie Zordel. This and my next few suggestions will be for your kids’ summer reading lists, including this delightful new picture book that takes young readers through the historic biblical events that led to the various people groups in our world today. Kids discover that each person is unique and we’re all created by God and deeply loved by him.
- Days of Creation: A Pop-Up Book, written by Avery Foley and illustrated by Bethany Baral McCurdy. Explore creation week with your children through this pop-up book with 15 interactive features (including spin wheels, pull tabs, and hidden pockets) and answers to your questions about creation week.
- Awesome Facts About Space by Dr. Danny Faulkner and Mark Wainwright. Learn more about God’s creation of our galaxy and beyond in this multi-award-winning book that’s all about what God made in the heavens, space exploration, and astronauts.
