I know our supporters are excited every year for the theme announcement for our new powerful Answers VBS—the topics are always so relevant, biblically rich, and gospel-centered. And next year’s is no exception. I’m excited to announce our 2026 theme—Emerald Crossing: An Irish Adventure Through Psalm 23.

This year’s topic is just as culturally relevant as we help children know there is a God who cares for them, even in hard times.

In the past, we’ve had VBS programs that dealt with the sanctity of life, racism, an overview of biblical history, and so much more. Well, this year’s topic is just as culturally relevant as we help children know there is a God who cares for them, even in hard times.

In Emerald Crossing, kids will walk through the life of David as they journey through Psalm 23. Along the way, they’ll meet the Good Shepherd who cares for them and will discover that, like David:

  • They can be children of God and have the Lord as their Shepherd.
  • They need the Lord to lead them on the right path through his Word.
  • They can turn to the Lord for comfort when they are anxious or afraid.
  • They can have an attitude of gratitude in every situation.
  • They need to look for God’s goodness and mercy, their traveling companions through life.
They’ll be reminded that the Lord is their Shepherd, their Leader and Guide, their Comforter, their Provider, and their Promise Keeper.

In a day when anxiety in children is increasing and difficult times cause them to ask where God is, Emerald Crossing will refresh them with timeless biblical truths that have carried God’s people since David first penned his most famous psalm. They’ll be reminded that the Lord is their Shepherd, their Leader and Guide, their Comforter, their Provider, and their Promise Keeper.

As always—and this is what I love about our VBS programs—Emerald Crossing also features apologetics to help kids stand firm in the faith and know why they believe what they believe. They’ll find answers to questions like:

  • Is the Lord a distant God? Did he create the universe and then just sit back and watch?
  • Is the Bible a trustworthy guide to lead us through life?
  • Why do we have hard times?
  • Are good things because of “good luck” or because of a good God?
  • What should rainbows remind us of?

We’re so excited for kids in hundreds of churches across the nation to discover the God who cares. And please be in prayer for the many churches currently using our 2025 VBS, Wonder Junction, which helps kids know who Jesus is.

If your church does VBS (or you want to start doing it!), I encourage you to check out Emerald Crossing. It is now available for preorder, and right now you’ll enjoy our lowest price with 25% off your purchase of a Super Starter Kit + Digital, a Super Starter Kit, a Starter Kit + Digital, or a Starter Kit when you order between now and January 10, 2026.

Please pray this VBS will make a huge impact!

AiG’s VBS has become one of the most-used VBS programs in the world, and I certainly believe it is the most powerful.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
