We were thankful, but not surprised, to be nominated—after all, the Ark Encounter offers so much for families. In my earlier blog about the contest nomination, I highlighted just some of what we offer for kids. Well, today I wanted to highlight some of the fun events we have coming up this summer—events the whole family will love.

• Singing News’ Gospel Music Weekends at the Ark, every Friday and Saturday now through July 26. Over 20 artists will be performing gospel and faith country music at the Ark—and each concert is free with Ark Encounter admission.
• Legacy Conference, June 12–14. Bring the whole family to celebrate 50 years of creation ministry (this year is 50 years since my first creation apologetics talk!). I’ll be giving eight of my classic presentations, Michael O’Brien will perform in concert, and registered conference attendees will enjoy a delicious dinner the first night of the event.
• Astronaut Encounter, July 12. Meet three generations of astronauts including Captain Barry Wilmore, who captained Boeing’s Starliner that flew to the ISS last June; Colonel Jeffrey Williams, who flew 534 days on four space flights to the ISS; and General Charlie Duke, who was the tenth man to walk on the moon. All these men love the Lord and give glory to him for his creation!
• 40 Days of Christian Music, July 29–September 6. Join Crowder, Big Daddy Weave, Jordan Feliz, Matthew West, Selah, Jason Crabb, Karen Peck & New River, and so many more (and I do mean “so many more”!) for 40 days of concerts at the Ark. Sponsored by Coca-Cola Consolidated (a local bottling company that loves our ministry), Shannon Perry Ministries, Destiny Rescue, Singing News, Singing at Sea, and Ray Flynn Ministries, in partnership with Abraham Productions, these concerts are free with Ark Encounter admission! Consider an annual family pass to attend multiple concerts.

And we’re not just kid-friendly because there’s so much to do for kids. We’re also kid-friendly because we’re doing all we can to reach the next generation for the Lord Jesus Christ, including by equipping child educators at our upcoming Answers for Educators event, July 21–22.
