Construction continues! Our new Ark Encounter Welcome Center is scheduled to open this year, and it will be a stunning beginning to your visit to the Ark Encounter. And here’s a sneak peek at just some of the immersive theming.

Two of our exhibit artists are working in our design studio to create “ivory” tusks that will be used as props in the Welcome Center. The artists are using handmade molds to recreate the tusks.

To do this, epoxy resin is meticulously brushed onto the mold and given time to cure. Once the curing process is complete, the two halves are glued together. The next step involves adding specialized expandable spray foam to the interior of the tusks, giving them a rock-hard center. From there, other artists will begin hand-painting and aging each piece. When finished, they will look like real tusks.

Please continue to pray for our teams as they work hard to open our Welcome Center this year.

And it’s not just the Ark Encounter’s Welcome Center that is coming soon—our Wallaby Walkabout and our Butterfly House at the Creation Museum will also be opening this month. And if you haven’t visited recently, there are so many new things to see, including our Creation Zoo, Plants of the Bible Conservatory, and new programs from our Discover presenters.

I encourage you to visit and consider coming on a Monday this month for our Creation Museum Family Adventure Days when families enjoy special offers and exclusive perks such as free tours, free refillable souvenir tumblers for parents, a free treat for every child, and so much more! These special Family Adventure Days are every Monday this month, except Memorial Day.

Learn more at CreationMuseum.org/family. Tickets must be purchased on our Family Adventure Days page.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
