Is the biblical account of the global flood and Noah’s ark “indefensible”? Well, that’s what apologist William Lane Craig recently told Latin American Christians during an online event. Rather than giving them answers to encourage them to trust God’s Word, he sowed seeds of doubt and pointed them away from the foundation of God’s Word, instead placing man’s word as the authority—and that’s dangerous!
It’s very dangerous indeed. Craig has previously compromised Genesis to the extent of mocking the account of the creation of Adam from dust and Eve from his side (rib).
Dr. Terry Mortenson (one of our authors and speakers) and Abby Owen (an author, speaker, and coordinator for our languages department) recently responded to Craig’s anti-biblical claims in a YouTube video. I encourage you to watch their response to learn why Craig was wrong and how we can certainly defend the historicity of the flood account.
Craig’s teaching on the flood is a great example of how not to teach the Bible—we don’t teach the Bible with man as the authority!
Craig’s teaching on the flood is a great example of how not to teach the Bible—we don’t teach the Bible with man as the authority! We start with God’s Word and use it as the foundation for our thinking. That’s how we teach God’s Word here at the Creation Museum, Ark Encounter, Answers in Genesis, and our Christian school, Answers Academy.
If you are dedicated to starting with God’s Word as the foundation and teaching a truly Christian worldview, I encourage you to consider joining our staff at Answers Academy—we’re hiring for several positions as the academy continues to rapidly grow and fill their beautiful new building. We’re looking to hire for these positions:
You can find job descriptions and apply today on the Answers Academy website.
