It’s finally open—and you can come and see this unique-in-the-world attraction for just the cost of parking during our end-of-year Christmas programs (5 p.m.–8:30 p.m.—check calendar for dates)! What am I talking about? Our stunning Plants of the Bible Conservatory housed in four climate-controlled glass greenhouses. It opens to the public today, and our ChristmasTown guests will enjoy it for free as part of our exciting Christmas program.

As you can see, each greenhouse has unique plants that grow in a particular climate: tropical, Mediterranean, temperate, and arid. There is also a section housing Australian plants, including a bottle tree my wife Mally cared for over many years before donating it to the attractions.

The conservatory is the largest in Kentucky and unique in the world since it houses plants of the Bible.

The conservatory is the largest in Kentucky and unique in the world since it houses plants of the Bible. But, more than that, it’s unique because we’re using these plants as a way to share the gospel with others. The culmination of a tour through the greenhouses is a sobering plant—a thorny bush, possibly the same type Jesus’ crown of thorns was made from. As guests reflect on those thorns, they’ll read about why Jesus came, died, and rose again and how they can be saved.

Enjoy the Conservatory During the Christmas Season

We’re thrilled this conservatory is finally open and is ready in time for our first ChristmasTown guests. Be sure to make plans to come and enjoy the conservatory along with our stunning garden of lights, live dramas, live nativity, hands-on family programs, and so much more happening evenings Tuesday–Saturday, November 29, 2024–January 4, 2025 (closed Christmas Eve and Day).
