The team of artists at our design studios are continuing work on the exciting Jerusalem model project. Right now, they’re working on tile 11, just one of the many tiles that will make up the 2,000 sq. ft. model of first-century Jerusalem.
All the parts for this tile have been 3D printed using our new printers, and the artists are starting to assemble these components during this testing phase. They are also hand-painting and aging each piece. Enjoy the photos!
The complete model will be the most up-to-date such archaeological model in the world and will consist of 5,000 buildings, 15,000 people, and thousands of plants at 1:100 scale. It will be simply stunning. The model will be exhibited in the Jerusalem building under construction at the Ark Encounter. It’s scheduled to open in 2026.
Oh, and if you’re a creative who loves serving the Lord with your gifting and talents, I encourage you to plan to join us for our first-ever Spark at the Ark event, May 6–7, 2025. Whether you are working in the entertainment industry in film, theme parks, or theater; you’re a student pursuing a career; or you’re in creative ministry in your church—make plans to come to this very affordable event.
You’ll enjoy expert speakers, practical breakout sessions, and four customized tours. Those tours include our attractions design studio (the studio responsible for the Jerusalem model and all our other exhibits), an after-hours tour of the Ark Encounter, a construction tour of the new Welcome Center, and a construction tour of our coming Radiance exhibit.
Early-bird pricing ends soon, so register for this event today. Space is limited.
The renovations are also ongoing at our Answers in Genesis headquarters building. Once we move our offices into this building (beginning February 2025), we will have space to expand the Creation Museum and our ministry’s general outreach over the next few years. Answers Academy, our K–12 Christian school, is already housed in the left third of the building, which was renovated earlier.
The construction crews have made significant progress since my last update. The drywall is nearly complete on all levels, and painting has begun. Carpet installation will begin on the fourth floor soon, followed by the lower floors.
This is certainly going to be a major asset and blessing for the Answers in Genesis ministry.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
