The Next 30 Years Begin . . .

The Answers in Genesis ministry officially began in December 1993 when the organization was legally incorporated in Kentucky. The three founders, Mark Looy, Mike Zovath, and I—and our families—moved to Kentucky in 1994 to build the Creation Museum as part of the apologetics outreach of the ministry. And what a journey it has been!

Looking back on the past 30 years, we stand in awe of what God has done. The Answers in Genesis ministry has grown to annually impact at least 30 million people directly (not counting social media) and tens of millions more around the world indirectly through our various outreaches and social media platforms. The Answers in Genesis YouTube channel alone just exceeded 100 million views since its inception. There are currently over 800,000 subscribers on our various YouTube channels, and the numbers are growing daily. And, of course, we have a quickly growing subscriber base for our unique streaming platform, Answers TV.

Also, we see around 1.5 million visits to the Ark and Creation Museum annually—and their popularity is growing every year!

What a massive outreach this ministry has around the world!

Now, one of the most-asked questions I’ve received over the past couple of years concerns who will lead this ministry in the future to ensure AiG maintains its stand on biblical authority, the gospel, and equipping with apologetics.

As the CEO and visionary behind the AiG ministry and the attractions, along with the other two founders, I have wanted to see a plan in place for younger leadership to begin taking over the reins to enable a God-honoring transition for the future.

Answers in Genesis is excited to announce that the AiG board approved my succession plan and unanimously voted to promote Martyn Iles to the position of Executive CEO of Answers in Genesis.

In May 2023, Australian Martyn Iles joined AiG as Chief Ministry Officer. Martyn is well known as the previous managing director of the Australian Christian Lobby.

Martyn’s move into this new role within Answers in Genesis is designed to set the ministry up for the future, ensuring that AiG continues to have a strong leader who stands solidly on the foundation of the Word of God from the very first verse. We will be leading together in this next season, slowly transitioning the ministry from being led by me as visionary and founder to sometime in the future being led by Martyn Iles, who is guided by the same vision I have had for decades of ministry.

No, I am not retiring! My philosophy of retirement is sort of akin to that of Moses! But while the Lord gives me strength, I will continue to be as active as I have been in guiding the ministry, mentoring younger leaders, and proclaiming the truth of God’s Word and the gospel to as many as possible.

The next 30 years (if the Lord tarries) will be another exciting era for this cutting-edge ministry God has raised up for this time.
