Behind the Scenes: Filming for The Great Jungle Journey

Many churches stage the drama production for each VBS themselves (the script is included with your kit), but other churches don’t have the ability to put on live performances during VBS week. So we have actors learn and play the parts on our Legacy Hall stage, complete with a professionally designed set, and then we film the production and release it for churches to use (videos can be obtained as an individual item or through Digital Pro). Either the live drama or the prerecorded videos provide a way for the kids to learn each day’s lesson in a fun and lighthearted way.

Yes, it takes a lot of work, creativity, and talent from our dedicated staff to plan, design, and produce each Answers VBS, but I believe it is the most powerful vacation Bible school in the world. Not only is it evangelistic, with churches telling us they see so many kids saved using it, but it teaches doctrine, worldview, and apologetics. In The Great Jungle Journey, children will explore the biblical answers to their questions as they set off on an epic adventure from Genesis to Revelation. Amid sloths, butterflies, river dolphins, and dart frogs, children will sail along on a fun jungle cruise, stopping at seven ports of call.

These ports are the 7 C’s of History (a wonderful way to teach the foundational history of God’s Word and the gospel!): Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, and Consummation. Kids will discover how these events shape our world, and they will learn to reconnect the Bible to their everyday lives.
