Behind the Scenes: Greenhouse and Jerusalem Building Construction Continues

Construction is continuing at both the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter as exciting upgrades take shape. Our video team recently took drone footage of the ongoing construction so you could enjoy a unique look at everything that’s happening. Enjoy these two short videos.

This drone video gives you an update on the construction of the conservatory and supporting greenhouses at the Creation Museum. Construction continues to be slower than we hoped because of supply issues (which seems to be the norm these days since the shutdowns). This project also involves building new structures for the Animal Experience—including an outside stage for live animal programs and a classroom for teaching.

The conservatory and supporting greenhouses (all glass) will be used to raise various plants mentioned in the Bible and are designed so our guests can walk through the greenhouses and enjoy the beautiful plants and the teaching. We were hoping these would be finished later this year, but it depends on when we receive all the construction materials.

This short video shows you the area under construction for the new Welcome Center and Jerusalem building (to house the massive indoor model of Jerusalem our designers are currently working on) at the Ark Encounter. You can see the road for the new bus drop-off and turnaround area.

We’re so excited for these new upgrades and how the Lord will use them to reach even more people with the message of biblical authority and the gospel.

Drainage and electrical have been put in place, along with other site preparation, and now we’re just waiting on the steel and further foundation work for the construction of the building. This is a large project, so it’s estimated to take another 18 months or so before the building will be finished.

We’re so excited for these new upgrades and how the Lord will use them to reach even more people with the message of biblical authority and the gospel.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
