It’s November . . . and that means our Christmas season is about to begin! On November 26, we host our first evening (5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.) for 2021 of ChristmasTime at the Ark Encounter and ChristmasTown at the Creation Museum. These events run until December 30, select evenings. We can’t wait!
Both of these spectacular Christmas events are free. You just pay for parking—but if you live in one of eight local counties, we’re offering you free parking this year for the final time. This is a wonderful opportunity for local believers to invite their friends and family members to a Christ-centered Christmas event that’s fun for the whole family.
If you live in one of eight local counties, we’re offering you free parking this year for the final time.
This free parking offer extends to those in Kentucky’s Grant, Boone, Kenton, Campbell, Pendleton, Gallatin, and Owen counties and Indiana’s Dearborn county. We encourage you to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity and bring as many people as you can.
ChristmasTime at the Ark Encounter features the grounds and Ararat Ridge Zoo lit up in a spectacular light display—including the 510-foot-long Ark itself in changing rainbow colors! It’s a beautiful sight to see.
Once you’ve toured the gorgeous grounds and met the animals in the zoo, you can head inside the 2,500-seat Answers Center for traditional Christmas carols and a special program featuring the Ark’s resident artists, Southern Salvation, and kids from Twelve Stones Christian Academy. The Answers Center also has live animal presentations and the spectacular Encounter the Wonder Christmas video on the huge, 70-foot-wide LED screen. And this is all free! You only pay for parking (and that’s free too this year for most local residents!).
You can enhance your Christmas experience with purchases at any or all of the following experiences: camel rides at the Ark, a zip over the trees, a trip back in time with our virtual reality experience, great food at Emzara’s restaurant, and unique gifts (including many fair trade options) in our massive gift store under the Ark.
Both of our Christmas events offer totally different experiences, so make plans to attend both. At ChristmasTown at the Creation Museum, you’ll tour what I believe is the area’s best garden of lights, with bridges, waterfalls, a boardwalk, lighted dinosaurs, and more, all breathtakingly lit up in celebration of the Savior’s birth. Then head to Eden Animal Experience to say hi to our alpacas, goats, wallaby, pigs, chickens, and more. You’ll also “meet” Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus at our live nativity Thursday–Sunday nights.
Our state-of-the-art playground will be open for kids to run around and play, and you can purchase a ticket to zip over the lake or take a spin on our Glice® (synthetic ice) rink. And, if you get chilly, warm up inside with a festive meal, shopping, our The Christmas Star 4K planetarium show (ticket purchase required), or sit down for our free Encounter the Wonder program shown in the spectacular 4D theater.
Please note: this year we will be closing the exhibits inside the Ark and Creation Museum at the normal closing time of 6 p.m.—but everything else remains open for the free Christmas events until 8:30 p.m.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
