This powerful animated show was originally produced for showing on the 510-foot-long life-size Noah’s Ark—it’s utterly unique. It has now been modified and upgraded to show in the Answers Center. And the state-of-the-art 70 X 22 ft. LED screen inside the Answers Center really makes the colors and animation pop. You’ll be amazed! It’s stunning.
This video program is just one aspect of ChristmasTime. You’ll also enjoy a sea of rainbow lights (including the ark lit up in rainbow lights), our heated indoor petting zoo, skating on North America’s largest Glice® (synthetic ice) rink, festive food and drinks, traditional Christmas carols with Steve Hess & Southern Salvation, a massive fair trade market and gift shop for Christmas shopping, and so much more. Entrance to ChristmasTime is free from 5 p.m. (only pay for parking). And you can tour the exhibits inside the Ark itself and enjoy a buffet dinner for a special price.
ChristmasTown at the Creation Museum
Just 45 minutes away from the Ark Encounter is ChristmasTown at the Creation Museum—free from 5 p.m. each day November 29–December 30 (closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day). Enjoy a dazzling garden of lights—one of the best (if not the best) in the area—a live nativity, petting zoo, special concerts every Friday and Saturday evening, and so much more. This event is also free (you only pay for parking), and you can enjoy entrance to the museum (including seeing our brand-new exhibits coming in November) and unlimited hot chocolate in a themed mug for a special price. And this year, we are featuring two giant steel dinosaur sculptures by our own Buddy Davis that will be spectacularly lit up in the front circle of the museum.
Other Special Christmas Events
During ChristmasTime and ChristmasTown, we’re also hosting several special events you won’t want to miss.
- Promise: A Christmas Drama. This drama and musical event in the Answers Center at the Ark Encounter features a choir, orchestra, and cast of actors coming together from God’s Bible School & College, as well as Aldersgate Christian Academy, to trace the promise of the Messiah from Eden through the manger and to the cross. It will be a beautiful celebration of God’s unfailing plan of redemption and the hope we have because of Christ. This free event ($10 for parking) is December 7, beginning with a prelude at 4:30 pm. Find all the event details on our website.
- Twelve Stones Christian Academy Christmas Event. The students from our Christian school, Twelve Stones, are putting on a special Christmas production, “Long Foretold,” at the Creation Museum on December 6, at 7 p.m. It’s a unique look at the wise men and their journey to worship Jesus. “Long Foretold” will answer your questions about the wise men: Were they at the manger scene? Why did they follow the star? Why were their gifts significant? And more! This event is free ($5 for parking).
- Christmas Truths for Families. Discover Christmas, beginning in Genesis, as you explore the true history of the world and the fulfillment of the promise God made to Eve in this special family workshop. You’ll go through Old Testament history and clearly see Christ from beginning to end. This event is free as part of the ChristmasTown at the Creation Museum experience. Visit our website to see available dates.
Free Parking for Local NKY Residents
We’re excited to announce that, as a way of showing our appreciation to our neighbors, we’re offering free parking for residents in eight counties surrounding the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter (Kentucky’s Grant, Boone, Kenton, Campbell, Pendleton, Gallatin, and Owen counties and Indiana’s Dearborn county). Simply show us your drivers license and you enjoy free parking. This is valid, not only for ChristmasTime and ChristmasTown, but through all of 2020 (this gives you free access to the grounds including the zoos, playgrounds, presentations, and more).
I encourage you to make ChristmasTime and ChristmasTown a family tradition. Not only will you have a wonderful time together, but your hearts and thoughts will be directed towards Christ and what he did for us in his birth, death, and resurrection.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
