AiG Supporters Give to Pro-Life Ministries in Response to Planned Parenthood

You can read my full response to the “thank you” letter in this article. But I wanted to share something else with you. We’ve received two letters from people who were apparently inspired to donate to pro-life ministries because of the letter I wrote and published in response to Planned Parenthood.

A couple from Pennsylvania wrote personally to Cecile Richards, the president of Planned Parenthood, and said:

Dear Ms. Richards,

We are writing to you to let you know that we have made a donation to Answers in Genesis due, in large part, to a letter your organization sent to Ken Ham, president of Answers in Genesis. This letter informed Mr. Ham that a donor to Planned Parenthood (Indiana and Kentucky office) had made a contribution in his “honor.”

While we have made donations to Answers in Genesis in the past, we had not planned to contribute at this time. However, when we were informed of your donor’s actions and ensuing letter of thanks to Ken Ham, we prayerfully reconsidered. We have decided that a contribution to Answers in Genesis is something God wants us to do. However, we are not making this donation “in honor of you or Planned Parenthood.” We believe that would be dishonest. But we wanted to inform you that the actions of one of your donors had the direct effect of encouraging us to contribute to this pro-life organization.

We received another letter from the director of development for a local pregnancy care center located here in Cincinnati. This letter informed me that they had received a gift in my honor. I was informed that this donor’s gift “will help mothers in need choose life for their babies. We are so grateful for this gift which honors your life and makes the gift of life possible to so many children.”

I am thankful for our supporters who are using this opportunity to give toward pro-life ministries that reach out to mothers and their families with a message of life and the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
