Grandmother Fish Can Wiggle and Chomp?

Grandmother Fish

“Grandmother Fish can wiggle and chomp. Can you? Grandmother Reptile crawls and breathes, and so do you!” That’s how Amazon is describing a recently published children’s book called Grandmother Fish: A Child’s First Book of Evolution. The description goes on to say,

Grandmother Mammal cuddles with her babies, and don't forget Cousin Whale and Cousin Bird. Grandmother Ape hoots, and Grandmother Human tells stories. We are their children, and all living things are related. In this enchanting tale, Charles Darwin's theory of common descent becomes adorable and kid-friendly.

Yes, secularists know where the battle is in this culture: it’s for the hearts and minds of the next generation. And they are growing increasingly aggressive in trying to capture the next generation—starting from a younger and younger age. That’s why parents and church leaders need to be active in discipling the next generation to stand on the authority of God’s Word from the very beginning. The vast majority of kids, even from Christian homes, go to public schools where in almost all instances they are indoctrinated with secular ideas (really, atheistic ideas) about history and morality from the earliest grades.

We can’t wait until kids are in junior high or high school to start teaching them a biblical worldview—we need to do it every single day right from the earliest age possible. That’s part of “train[ing] up a child in the way he should go” (Proverbs 22:6). And it’s essential that we do this training then because it isn’t really in college that most kids begin to have doubts and questions about the Christian faith—it’s as early as middle school! This problem—and the solution to reclaiming the last generation—has been thoroughly discussed in my coauthored books Already Gone, Already Compromised, and Ready to Return.

That’s why we provide powerful apologetics resources for parents to use to help their children develop a biblical worldview. We have a special Kids Answers site, books such as A is for Adam or D is for Dinosaur that teach children a biblical understanding of creation and dinosaurs, and DVDs such as the Buddy’s Amazing Adventures series to help kids see the world through the lens of God’s Word. I encourage you to browse our store to see what resources we offer that are guaranteed to help you raise your children to think biblically and to love the Lord.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
