Join Us at the Vancouver Olympic Games February 2010

2010 olympics

Over 20 people have already committed themselves to be involved in the Answers in Genesis Olympics Ministry in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 2010. All of the housing, feeding, and transportation arrangements are finalized in Vancouver, and several folks from Vancouver itself have called to volunteer help. One caller yesterday even offered a house on top of Whistler Mountain where the Olympics skiing venue will take place. God is already bringing together a fantastic team to minister at the Winter Games.

Dr. David Crandall, who is directing this outreach ministry, encourages folks who are interested in the Olympics ministry to sign up quickly because of limited housing and transportation. The cost is only $799 for housing, transportation, and meals. It has been noted that a one-night stay in a hotel in Vancouver during the Olympics could cost as much as $700.

The AiG Olympics Team will have a chance to hear me speak in Vancouver and even attend an Olympics event.

AiG Books Deal with Doubts

This is a great testimony about the effects of AiG resources on a person’s life:
“[The books] How Could A Loving God...? and Darwin’s Plantation have really helped shape how I view things. . . . How Could a Loving God . . . ? came out just at the right time. It's helped get me through the grieving process when I lost my mother to cancer last year . . . .

[Dr. Jason Lisle]’s book on astronomy [Taking Back Astronomy] had the most wonderful explanation of Christianity I have ever heard (or read). I grew up in a Christian family and went to parochial school, but although I believed in Jesus Christ as my savior, I still had my doubts. Jason’s explanation made me realize that Christianity was not a crazy story or illogical, but it made me realize how logical it really was! . . .

Evolution had started to influence my thought process through my graduate studies, shows on the Discovery Channel, National Geographic, and the History Channel, and through conversations with colleagues . . . . AiG’s tools have definitely educated me and have given me the confidence to speak what I believe and not be embarrassed. It’s a wonderful feeling. God bless AiG and its work.

Devotion

Not refraining, but declaring salvation

(Psalm 40:8-11) I delight to do your will, O my God: yes, your law is within my heart. I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, you know. I have not hid your righteousness within my heart; I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation: I have not concealed your loving kindness and your truth from the great congregation.

We know God’s will for us is to declare God’s way of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ, not avoiding the telling by substituting preaching with good living.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
