There are many counterfeits, but there is only one true God! Help your junior cadets discover the nature of our one true God and uncover the fakes with this spy-adventure-themed VBS.
In a time of religious pluralism and vague “spirituality,” kids need to know there’s only one true God, and we know him from his Word. They’ll use their detective skills to find out that:
- God is unique because he is the only true God. Together, we’ll uncover counterfeit views of gods and discover the God of the Bible.
- God is unique because he is one God in three persons. We’ll be on the lookout throughout the Scriptures for those persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- God is unique because he himself came to earth to rescue us. Kids will be challenged to admit, believe, and forever receive him.
- God is unique; he is beyond description! Kids will crack codes to track down some of his attributes.
- God is unique because he wants to have a personal relationship with us. Kids will learn their mission: to keep God as their first love.
Through lessons, games, snacks, crafts, and science experiments, kids will discover there’s no one like our God—he’s unique and set apart from the counterfeits our world has to offer.
As with every Answers VBS, Spy U will feature apologetics content to help kids know why we believe what we believe as Christians.
- There’s only one true God. All others are counterfeits.
- The Trinity is a reality but also a mystery.
- The biggest difference between Christianity and other religions is who Jesus is.
- God’s character is like no other.
- Unlike other religions, our God is about relationship. He is loving and personal.
Go undercover with us next summer as we discover the truth of God:
For you are great and do wondrous things;
you alone are God. (Psalm 86:10)
Did You Crack the Code?
Over the past few weeks, we’ve released clues that hinted towards this new theme. Did you solve the clues? Here are the clues and the answers.
- Stars: Every investigation begins with observation, and looking at the stars reminds us that creation clearly points to the greatness of God.
- Camera lens: Investigators gather evidence by capturing details, and a camera lens reminds us to pay attention to what we see and to recognize truth.
- Learning: Before any mission, there has to be training, and God calls us to know his Word and understand what we believe (1 Peter 3:15).
- Magnifying glass: A magnifying glass is used to examine evidence more closely, just like we carefully study God’s Word.
- Fingerprint: Fingerprints are used to identify someone, reminding us that God has clearly revealed who he is (Psalm 86:10). This also nods to the hero image where a child scans their fingerprint before entering Spy U.
